Dec. 7, 2010! An extremely significant thing happened! It is about Macro Programming! ... I got a feeling that I had to take you as far as possible into this area! I did it! It works great! Do as much as you can .. Go as far as you can .. On the scale, the Final Project Macro Programming takes you about 6" .. with about 500 yards (of programming) to go! ... Engage it! Fight your way to successful Visual Basic Programming! Copy?

Nov. 16 2010. I have some important info for you! ... Somehow, someway I got on a STEM Proficiency kick, seeing the relationship between survival, sustained growth, quality of life, "making a difference", etc. -- You get the idea! ... I am putting literally every bit of myself into creating "Blast!" lesson that go into some advanced technology! ... Examples, using EXCEL interactively, visually to accelerate learning of Functions! .. Using JavaScript to create forms that convert one number system to another -- cubic centimeters (liters) to cubic inches ... and I discovered a lot about fuel efficiency! ... Really, in short, a STEMTREK! ... Get on board, and go where you should have gone 20 years ago! ... My sincerest. Prof. A. Out.

Sept. 03 2010. NEWS! Something "magical" appears happening! .... Classes packed! ... Great Help arriving ... New classroom ... GameMaker working (look at CIS 99) ... Example: this week we did the PowerPoint Lessons, and students and I engaged in dialogue about perfecting the Lesson! ... At first, I said "just skip the ones you can't answer." ... Not good enough, students came back with TQM, Quality, and together, we updated the questions! ... I am thrilled with this! Engagement, conversation, connecting felt great! ... I admire the students' quest for Quality! ... I reward and acknowledge them -- Jose and Kevin Walters, and others ... Keep it up! ... This is exactly what Education is supposed to be about! .... Further suggestion -- just go thru every lesson in every course (over 300), and knock them out ... and dialogue with me, having fun and learning! ... Way to go! Prof. A. Out.

Dear Student, on June 15th, 2010 -- at halftime with Lakers leading 51-31 -- and after turning in my grades -- I feel the need to communicate with all of you:
Point 1:  -- Over half my students 'exceeded the requirement' for an 'A' ... (almost "excessive" profits -- just kidding) ... They did every lesson, quiz, and activity they could find on the site! ... This is exactly what I would have done! Restated: A majority of students hit not only the "A" level, but hit the A+ level ... (I will write them Letters of Recommendation!) ... This is the way it should be! ... Engagement leads to immersion and proficiency!

Point 2: For those who earned less than 100 points, I gave you an incomplete, and because I want you to understand how gratifying learning can be,  I will give you a chance to re-enroll and, keeping your account active for a year,  allow you to work the site, and build points!  .... Restaed:  Re-enroll, keep hitting the website,  hit the 900 mark (raised 100 points),  and you can turn your "incomplete" to a completed "A".

This summer, I will try to post some C# lessons ... go with me, in CyberSpace ... do as much Programming / Scripting as you can find --- Find "Try-It" exercises from W3Schools, do SQL, hunt down and do all the Visual Basic as you can ... even "reverse engineer" some websites that I posted ... for their XML and JavaScript ... Start building your programming skills ... it will be part of your career ... even Office Workers, now, create Macros in WORD, etc! ...

Back to the game .. I am always open to communicate with you ... Understand that I was fortunate to have Great Teachers and Mentors at the University of Massachusetts, and I bring that model of close interaction and perfection with me. (I used to sit at the top of the tower (restaurant), eat with my advisor, sip a glass of wine, while he went over my work, point by point, taking it and me apart -- and I immediately improved my work -- so after 15 weeks, he had little to say, and we just enjoyed the experience! ... This is the life that I want you to have! ... Copy that ... talk to me: joseph@auciello.net

757: Work on Final Project. Create a webpage, based on the models supplied, and upload or link it to your Topic Work Areas in http://gogomoodle.org ...

There is a problem with computer stations not working in K302... This is the link to the Equipment Repair Form:
http://auciello.tripod.com/tr.doc... Click to open it, print it,  fill it out and give it to the classroom instructor. Make a copy for your records.  Make sure that it has the station #, the date,  put your name on it (optional), and describe the problem. ... Are we going to use TQM and Web 2.0, Interactive Technology to solve this problem? ...

April 05, 2010: I really want to communicate here: The lessons for Week 08 are a Statistical Analysis of California Quakes interoperating with Excel, Word, Web Expression, and soon Access, which provides tremendous insight into Quakes Zones, and building up to Large Ones! ... Also, Week 08 for CIS 733, Access, makes SQL programming with AND, OR, and NOT simplified! ... These lessons are repeatable and writing for future use, part on your Learning Continuum ... Prof. A.

Feb. 25, 10. CIS 757. "Check-in. Week 03" is up and running .. use it to figure out the webpage model I created for the class ..

CIS 733. "Topic 03. Week 03." is operating well ... Use it to help understand ... You can retake quizzes, as you know, and you get the higher grades .. A07 is Menu-driven ... so learn it .. but go with me into the world of SQL and VBA programming ... way beyond the menus ... OK!

CIS 701. Now, 2am, I am putting up a lesson on PowerPoint ("Topic 03. Week 03. PPT") .. you will do well with this lesson ..

At 2:45am, some of my students are online with me ... I don't know .. ... I am going to take a nap soon before I get up again ..

Feb. 19, 10. CIS 757 skip lesson checking and repairing browser errors  -- DW-01b. Weeks 01-02. DW. Debugging Code -- instead look for then work on DW-02a.  Also we are working on alternative backups when the Thin-Client Blade PC server fails again ... and again!

In CIS 733, the database opened up, and Access 07 (A 07) worked fine, and so did the Lesson-Quiz..... Please, always springboard from what I teach you ... There are acres and acres of ground to cover ... copy that? ... Hopefully, my L-Q help you to launch! .. Out.

Feb. 02, 10. I am writing this to my new students:  To make things go smoothly, I will spell out the steps!

1:   You already did this!  You found GoMoodle.org!  Way to go!
(some explanation here:  part of my background is Total Quality Management, [Google for "Auciello TQM"]  so I carry a lot of responsibility to keep this standard!)

    2.  Create a New Account,  so your work (points) can be accumulated. Click the button.  Use firstnamelastname for Username, so Bill Hernandez becomes "billhernandez" and recommend that you use the last 4 (four) digits of your student ID for the Password (so you won't easily forget).  Test it by logging in and out, several times.

    3.  Borrow my camera, get a head shot, pick a good color background, and upload your picture to your Profile ... part of setting up new account

    4.  Navigate to your course.  Click the buttons describing the work for the Week.  This course is all about "Empowerment" and Education, so we work on the "honor" system, giving respect all around, but I do validate your work when I have to!

    5.  Points!  All about points.  900 = A, 800 = B, etc.  You earn points for taking quizzes. So learn how to check your point total.

    6.  This is all about "continuous learning",  so go outside the box and learn all that you can. I will find ways to give you Extra Credit for your research!

    7.   Having a Learning Community is my M.O. so helping each other means the class can cover more ground.  Helping, building on models,  collaboration is part of the plan.

    8.   It is all about your success, so get all the help you
need from me, my TA's, classmates,  C-102 staff, forums / Wikis ... etc ... contact me ..

    9.   Hit "perfection" and "quality" in everything you ... don't stop until you get it Perfect!

    10.  I do a lot of websites, and club activities:  Take a look at, if you like,
http://gotradetech.com, http://golulac.org ,  and my old site http://auciello.net ... I am also writing a course to help students pass the California HS Exit Exam (CAHSEE) in Math .. on this site ... navigate around for it!  But, go beyond, way beyond, what I've done!

    11.  Lots of new topics in the Works:  Dreamweaver,  PHP, Macros (Visual Basic), Cell Phones for browsers .. working on the Server, the web .. and building Web pages ...so help me with this mission.

    12.   I will be "twittering", on Facebook, and Yahoo!, for info ... Feel free to contact me -- best way is by email   joseph@auciello.net  (put CIS in the subject line) .. Always I am here for you.  My job, our shared task, is pull you across the "digital divide" and launch you successfully in the Web 2.0 and 3.0 world (look it up!).

    Work hard and smart.
    Regards,  Prof. A.  Auciello.  Out.

Click Lesson-Quiz. Week 12. Comprehensive PPT then login using "student" as both Username and Password, and review the Lesson.  It takes about 30 minutes and can make you PPT competent quick!  -- It uses "Copy and Paste" techniques for building on a Model,  High Quality Graphics Design,  "Measurable Learning" (your result can be measured),  Adaptive techniques (if wrong, try and try again with hints),  Highly Interactive (a View, Think, Act, Adjust, and React System),  Collaborative (go to a Forum for Help, and , coming, see who's Online, and ask them for help).   Every learning style, every  techniques technically possible to help you reach proficiency fast!

I am helped in this by a huge body of Virtual Teachers and Web Professionals, including, and, starting with Martin Dougiamas, creator of Moodle, a teaching, authoring, and course management system that this site uses ... and an international set of individuals who inspire me and join me in the effort to use "Technology to Peak Performance" ...

I work in a High Performance conducive environment at LA Trade Tech, focused on, and led by,  inspired administrators, educators,  Internet Developers and Attorneys, and advisors who guide me to apply Web 2.0, Web 3.0,  Social Networking,  "Wiki", and "Community Collaborative" tools and techniques in order for me to "Peak my own Performance"!  ...  A good thing would be to get all the kids in your life enrolled and working on this website! ....

Thus I want "Learning to be Contagious" ... it is fun, healthful, successful and soul-satisfying ... Please feel free to contact me at joseph@auciello.net
